Harry Morgan

I must take a moment to say that Harry Morgan was more to me than an actor. He was able to make people laugh and think at the same time. I will always remember some of the lines that he read on the series. I know that I must give credit to those who wrote the lines, but I must also give him credit for how he did the reading.

One of the best lines in the series is just one line in one program. It also is important to all people who must give direction to others. Colonel Potter is asked why he gave an order and he replies that when he was given his rank they removed his need to give a reason every time he made a decision. It is important that we remember that in the reality of life. Decisions are important and not always a time or place when an explanation is possible. Sometimes it is the need for speed at the time or it can be that it is just the right thing to do at that point.
When Harry Morgan was made a part of M*A*S*H* it was something that I knew would only improve the series. I had been a fan since his days on Dragnet. He showed that he could do the very serious part of a program while still being able to show a comedic moment when it was needed.

So let us all think about all of the good that we associate with Harry Morgan and the good that he was able to show us, by his acting ability. No one person can make an acting situation look good, but it only makes it better when you have someone of great ability.
