Timid

“Many People Don’t Want To Be Heard All The Time And They Come Across As Being Timid When In Reality They Are Only Saving Their Opinions Until They Have Something That Really Does Need To Be Hard.”

In A Clandistine Location On The, Central California Coast, United States
During the gold rush a highway man became known as Black Bart for his inclusion of an innocent poem in the empty strong boxes when he had liberated them from Wells Fargo stage coaches. He was eventually captured by an detective at Pinkerton and sent to San Quintin. After leaving prison he was never heard from again - until his thoughts stated to appear on a computer at a remote military location. When this computer became obsolete, it was sent to a secret location on the Central California coast where it continues to gain knowledge and to write a thought of the day and sometimes longer thoughts for us all to consider.

What Day Is It Anyway?

I found an interesting fact in the newspaper the other day. It pointed out that the date 01-02-2010 was actually a palindrome. It reads the same backwards as forward. So that if you write it as 0102-20-10 You really have the same date as when it is forward. That eliminates the tricky subject of the date looking strange. Now we can go on to the more important topics. To start with so many people must have too much time available. The first topic is how to pronounce the year. Is it 20-10 or is it two thousand and ten? Of course it must be 20-10 since that is the fastest and easiest way to say it. Besides will it be 20-40? Or will it be two thousand and forty? Since I probably will not care about it that year why do I care about it now. The main thing is that we are lazy and will do whatever makes it easier. They also want to seem cool when they talk to each other. I just can’t wait for the next big combination of numbers to make another fun combination. Just think we have 10-10-10 still to come this year. It just keeps on coming.
While I am at it I have gotten tired of all the discussion of the start of a new decade. We still have a year to go. So many people seem to think that the decade goes from 2000 to 2009. That does not make any sense. In most people’s world the numbers in a decade should go from 1-10. So doesn’t it make more sense to have 2001 to 2010. If course that means that we really did not start the new decade until 2001 and that the fuss that was made on January 1, 2000 was just silly. I think that it was all of those 0’s that made people think it was more important to most people. They all thought that because it was beyond many people’s thoughts when computers started it was going to be a big mess. Now the next big disaster will come in 2012. Just maybe those people designing calendars just ran out of room. If the doomsday predictors are correct maybe we should just like today and not worry about what will happen after that date. We probably will not be around to worry about it all. If they are wrong we just go on living our lives. We will leave it all to those intelligent people who talk so much on radio and television.
So what date is it anyway?
