In A Clandistine Location On The, Central California Coast, United States
During the gold rush a highway man became known as Black Bart for his inclusion of an innocent poem in the empty strong boxes when he had liberated them from Wells Fargo stage coaches. He was eventually captured by an detective at Pinkerton and sent to San Quintin. After leaving prison he was never heard from again - until his thoughts stated to appear on a computer at a remote military location. When this computer became obsolete, it was sent to a secret location on the Central California coast where it continues to gain knowledge and to write a thought of the day and sometimes longer thoughts for us all to consider.

Customer Service

It must just be me. I think that the economy is really starting to effect the way that people act while they are shopping. People seem to think that however they act in public is ok because they are spending the money. The truth is that decorum is always needed in a society. When it gets busy each person is responsible for their own action. If many people are trying to get service from one sales person then it does make sense to pay attention to what is going on around you. When someone else is being helped it does not make the situation better if you interrupt. I was in a local Sears store last week when I noticed a couple of women at the counter. I thought that they were together by their action. It turned out that one was waiting for the sales person to complete a transaction for another woman before he finished processing a return for that women. She spent the entire time she was waiting and the time she was helped leaning over the counter or fixing her sweat pants that kept slipping. Yes she was extremely over weight. She was indigent that she needed to provide information to the store since she did not have a receipt for the item that she was returning. Apparently this was the second person who was helping to settle the problem. As she left all she could do was complain that the first person was purposely giving her problems about her return. Not a word about how the second person had gone overboard to help her and had been very professional about his help to her. Yes I did thank him for helping me and told him how well I felt he had helped the customer ahead of me. This is only one of the incidents I have seen lately. Is it the full moon or is it the weather or is it just that some people do not feel that they need to act polite in public. One customer objected because of a joke. The sales people were “silly” and not interested in helping. This customer was not just rude to one person but to several employees of the company, and was given good service despite this. The fact is that sales people who last more than one day are interested in helping and try to know as much about the products they sell as they can learn so that they do not look dumb to the public. People should remember that everyone is the same and we are all out in public being watched by everyone else so that they can make fun of you. So act as if you were on center stage and the world is watching. You are not alone and should act as if all the rest of the people actually care about your actions.
