On this very important day in the history of the United States and the world as a whole many people will be shown and praised as important. The new president, vice president and those of the administration and the other branches of government are all important. Let us thank those who we see and do not name. The floor director who told the new president it was ok to walk out on the podium. She was only acknowledged with a hand shake by outgoing President Bush. His years in office have shown him who is really important on this type of occasion. In the many replays of the events of today think about the broadcast staffs who were not seen but spent many hours in the cold of Washington D.C. so that we could enjoy the festivities and feel that we were part of the two million people who braved the weather and crowd to be at the inauguration. We must thank those members of the military that spent many hours waiting for the brief time when the motorcade would pass them so that they could salute those in the cars. Thank the police and the military who are responsible for the security of not just the new president but of all those in the capital today. These are the people that we depend on for this day being a glorious day for us all to remember as a highlight in our history. They will not be remembered but we should. I have heard of troops being returned from the war zone to help with security today. The importance of this move is that the best training anyone could have to be prepared for anything that might come is combat. We listen to the big names of the broadcasters and the pundits who we will see on the air and yet it is those who we do not see that makes this day possible. So I say thank you to all those people what were shown but not acknowledged. Thank you to all the people who went to the capital to show all of our support for the new president and his administration.
