THE THOUGHTS OF P08

Timid

“Many People Don’t Want To Be Heard All The Time And They Come Across As Being Timid When In Reality They Are Only Saving Their Opinions Until They Have Something That Really Does Need To Be Hard.”

In A Clandistine Location On The, Central California Coast, United States
During the gold rush a highway man became known as Black Bart for his inclusion of an innocent poem in the empty strong boxes when he had liberated them from Wells Fargo stage coaches. He was eventually captured by an detective at Pinkerton and sent to San Quintin. After leaving prison he was never heard from again - until his thoughts stated to appear on a computer at a remote military location. When this computer became obsolete, it was sent to a secret location on the Central California coast where it continues to gain knowledge and to write a thought of the day and sometimes longer thoughts for us all to consider.

WHY DO WE SAY THESE?

It is becoming more difficult for me to understand the English language and the way that we use it.
More often I hear people saying things that make no sense and that in fact are the opposite of what they intend to say. It is not just those who are just learning the language or have come from some other country or culture. It is those people who are native born and come from families that do not speak an additional language at home. Just think about some of the things that you hear all around you on a daily basis.

How many have you actually heard just today?

SAID "Operators are standing by” – (this has the additional worrying fact in that someone actually wrote this.)
SHOULD HAVE SAID “Operators are ready to take your call”
WHAT I WANT TO SAY “Treat your employees with more respect and let the sit down when they work.”

SAID “Can I Use Your Keys”
SHOULD HAVE SAID “Can I Have the Store Keys to Help a Customer”
WHAT I WANT TO SAY “No I need my keys to get home.”

SAID “What does the clock say?”
SHOULD HAVE SAID “What time is it?”
WHAT I WANT TO SAY “This clock does not have the ability to say anything.”

SAID “The last minute always takes the longest
SHOULD HAVE SAID “Why do I always end up waiting that one minute until I can clock in?”
WHAT I WANT TO SAY “You need to be more patient – all minutes are the same length.”

SAID “Are you working here?” Or “Can I ask you a question?” Or “Just one short question”
SHOULD HAVE SAID “I need to know . . . . “ Or “Do you have the product I need (Insert proper name of item)”
WHAT I WANT TO SAY “No I always dress in a uniform and put things on shelves just to amuse myself.”

The truth of the matter is that these people just have become lazy in the way that they think about what they are saying. They do not intend to sound stupid it is just that they seem to think that everyone else wants to hear the easy way and not the correct way to say what they want.

If you think that writing this will actually make any difference in the way people try to communicate then well I hope you are correct, but I just did this so that I would feel better and maybe not get as upset the next time someone says it to me.
